Pop-up campsites on your land

Running a temporary campsite and adding guest tents to one event involve different arrangements. Establish the planning and licensing position before confirming the dates and facilities.

Running it yourself

The rules depend on the country, the land and the type of accommodation. Planning permission and site licensing are separate checks. Confirm the route and conditions for your proposed site with your local authority.

Read the country-specific planning guide and the campsite licensing guide, with links to official sources.

Tents for one event

The Glamping Group runs this site. For festivals, weddings and private parties we bring bell tents to your land, put them up and take them down afterwards. Beds are air beds or memory-foam singles. We quote per event, because it depends on the number of tents and how far we travel.

What landowners earn from it

Pitchup.com says the basic pop-up sites it lists take about £13,000 a season on average. One it names is a 2.5-hectare field at Stitchpool in Devon: 28 days, 30 pitches, £12,000 taken and £9,500 left after Pitchup's 15% commission and other costs.
